Three Faces Of A Rapist
Sex is NOT the main motive for rape. It is, the way for a rapist to release anger and power.
POWER RAPE
His Motivation, To Have Power over Women
1.It is not the offender's desire to harm his victim, but to possess her sexually. Sexuality becomes a way of compensating for underlying feelings of inadequacy and serves to express issues of mastery, strength, control, authority, identity, and capability.
2. His goal is sexual conquest, and he uses only the amount of force necessary to accomplish this objective.
3. His aim is to capture and control his victim.
4. He resorts to whatever force he finds necessary to overcome his victim's resistance and to render her helpless.
5. He entertains obsessive thoughts and masturbatory fantasies about sexual conquest and rape.
6. In reality, he tends to find little sexual satisfaction in the rape.
7. Something he cannot clearly identify or define is missing or lacking. He does not feel reassured by either his own performance or his victim's response to the assault, and, therefore, he must go out a find another victim, this time, "the Right one."
8. His offenses become repetitive and compulsive, and he may commit a whole series of rapes over a relatively short period of time.
Anger Rape
His Motivation, To Punish Women
1. They tended to use sudden attack approach
2. They are usually married, hot-tempered and use excessive force.
3. Some are sadistic and suffered from psychopathic tendencies including the likelihood of torturing their victims.
4. They often carried rape kits and again had difficulties with ejaculation. They sometimes use bondage and weapons such as guns and knives.
5. Their victims are often severely injured or killed.
SADISTIC RAPE
His Motivation, To Use His Sexuality And Aggression
1. Both sexuality and aggression become combined into a single psychological experience known as sadism
2. There is a sexual transformation of anger and power so that aggression itself becomes eroticized.
3. The offender finds the intentional abuse of his victim intensely gratifying and takes pleasure in her torment, anguish, distress, helplessness, and suffering.
Command Presence
Ever wonder why we naturally respond to people in authority? Command presence is basically presenting yourself as someone in authority, with confidence. This is partially done through the message conveyed by how you LOOK, how you CARRY YOURSELF, how you ACT, and how you SPEAK.
Body Language
· How you carry yourself portrays command presence or lack of it.
· Confidence is projected through your body language, and how you verbally deal your attacker
· Walk with your head up, eyes alert, and your expression intent.
· You do not want to appear weak or vulnerable Walk with intent.
· Don't shuffle your feet or use a "lazy" walk. Pick up your feet and move like you know where you are going, and that you have a purpose in going there
· You need to portray an" I am in charge of this situation" image.
· The key is to be outwardly confident - even if on the inside you are scared out of your wits.
· You want your body language to convey confidence.
· If someone is coming toward you, hold out your hands in front of you and yell, "STOP!" or "STAY BACK!” Again, they are looking for an EASY target.
